Be a Royal with Oak Dining Chairs.

Oak, the wood of kings. An extremely robust hard wood that has been highly prized since the middle ages. It has been used in the construction of everything from Royal Thrones to battle ships. It has long been the fashion to clad walls of prestigious buildings with oak interior paneling, for example the Houses of Parliament, London England. Up till today it is used in the construction of timber framed buildings and is very commonly used in quality furniture making and flooring.

There are a few reasons why Oak is highly regarded and used.

  • Its density is about 0.75g/cm3 compared to Pine at 0.5g/cm3.
  • It is naturally resistant to insect attack.
  • It is also resistant to fungal attack because of its high Tannin content.
  • It is easily worked to an attractive and smooth finish.

So now that you know all about the amazing features and history of oak why would you not want to furnish your dinning room with the grandeur of oak dining chairs. Oak dining chairs can be looked as a once in a life time purchase. All good oak made furniture will last with reasonable care for many years allowing pieces to be passed on down through friends and family. I say reasonable care and buy that I do mean just a small amount along the lines of gentle cleaning and not leaving it for the dog to chew. Oaks amazing robustness will have them looking after their selves and the odd dink or dent over time will only add to any oak dining chairs character.

You will happily know and appreciate the moment you sit down in to the hosts leather oak dinning chairs, their reassuring weight and sturdiness will give it away. But they don’t have to be leather clad and they certainly don’t have to be anyone else any more. To purchase wisely now with a sensible mind on their styling your Oak dining room tables and chairs will stand you and your family proud for many dinner occasions to come.

Whether you purchase from a home decor liquidators or a on line bespoke designer store its the design styling of your oak dining chairs that will matter the most, after the quality of their build. Oak its self will blend in well with most home thanks to its natural beauty but the chairs designs may not. For an item that will last so long its look is important, anything too funky or over the top may work for a few seasons but will look tired or plain out of fashion in only a few years.

Mirrored Coffee Table worries put to bed.

So you have found this page because for at least one of a variety of reasons you are after a mirrored coffee table. And what a wise choice. It may be your 1st coffee table, a replacement one or one to fit into your newly decorated or to be decorated living room.

This guide will hope fully give you either some food for thought, reassurance or commit you to a good decision.

Firstly to reassure any worries there will be a design to suit your taste, needs and decor, from antique mirrored coffee tables to minimalist designs and everywhere in between has been catered for. Coffee tables themselves are one of the most commonly featured items of furniture in any living room. You don’t need me to explain that they are low slung tables at sofa or couch height perfect for placing not only their name sake, coffee but everything else that needs that easily assessable surface. TV remotes, magazines, dinner plates and even the coffee table book specially printed for this purpose.

The second reassure is for the shy or self conscious as they need not fear the mirrors. The angles will be all wrong to catch a glimpse of yourself with out effort. However the angles are all correct to reflect potential nasty areas of the living room. Mirrors on the vertical panels of a table will highlight a worn or dis tasteful carpet and a mirrored table top will repeat before un noticed cracked and pealing ceiling or un stylish light fittings. But I am sure that if you are savvy enough to research mirrored coffee tables before buy then you and your decorating taste have nothing to worry about.

Mirrors, reflectors of light and repeaters of images, its their nature and their real sole purpose.

A mirrored glass coffee table will bring an air of extra light to the center of a room and repeat its colors and styling to subtly blend in. Even though a round mirrored coffee table will reflect its surroundings its important to make sure its over all style suits the room. A clean cut glass and edges style may not fit in a rustic wooden thyme room. A well chosen mirrored coffee table with chic styling will add an air of elegance and to a suited room and become its focal point.

Beyond a mirrored coffee tables styling is to consider the materials it is made from before buying. The synthetic materials that modern cheaper range coffee table as made of now a days do not have the durability qualities to stand up to normal house hold demands.

Your best options are for wood or metal framed tables even if the underlying frame cant be seen. A good hard wood such as cherry or walnut is key.

The glass of the mirror must be tempered glass. Unprocessed glass is a big no no. Tempered glass will have been through a thermal or chemical process to massively increase its strength and resistance to shattering making it safer and increasing its life span. Cheaper tables normally come with thin glass, of course this means it will be weaker too tempered or not. But also knowing and feeling its thinness may well add to a feeling of unease when using it. The thicker the glass undoubtedly the more comfortable you will be using it with out fear of a disaster.

Leather Dining Chairs, The choices to make.

Not so many hundreds of years ago the joy of sitting on a chair to eat your diner was limited to the likes of Royalty and dignitaries. Everyone else which of course was most people where limited to wooden benches and stools to perch on.

Thankfully times have moved on and even though the thrones of Medieval times have made way for less grand leather dining chairs they are equally regarded as an important item of household furniture.

With the single intended use of some where comfortable to park yourself in a seated upright position the contemporary leather dining chairs appeal can be a bit limited. Be its use at the dining table or in front of the TV as the sofa has run out of space the comfort of the cushion and the angle of the high upright back is not overly considered, unless its uncomfortably wrong.

Through out history dining has been quite a spectacle for special occasions and even daily dining for the well to do. Of course the furniture has also matched these occasion and as such some of the most impressive examples of chairs are antique leather dining chairs. Generally made from a dark hardwood with much detailing and covered in dark leather all though pricey there is often good sets of chairs available from auctioneers or antique dealers the world over.

Leather is a material that never has and most likely never will go out of fashion. It has an amazing ability to age beautifully with the minimal of care, just like the mystical woman that all women want to be. Modern technology has allowed for leather to come in the whole spectrum of colors and still be a natural product. Part of the brilliance of this is that now in a simple dining room with a simple dining table a set of vibrant or lavish leather dining chairs can be the visual center point. For your dining guests this of course is a special welcoming feeling for them to be interacting in such a way with the room feel and its furniture.

The other way round works equal as well with a more colorful and happening dining room, some subtle cozy cream leather dining chairs encouraging your guest to relax but enjoy the room and the dining experience.

Both are win win situations but are equally down to the correct choice of modern interesting leather dining chairs of different styling.

With buy any set of leather dining chairs the key factors to rate them buy are

  • Quality of the Leather.
  • Sturdiness of the frame.
  • Comfort of the seat cushion.
  • Angle of the set back for comfort.
  • Arm rests. Needed? Comfort?
  • How their design and color scheme will work in the panned surroundings?

The Glass Coffee Table Appreciation Society.

The modern day coffee tables as we know them generally have an uninteresting past and their story wont be filling any history books for a while. But today the modern use of the coffee table is vast and to take it away we would certainly miss it. Such a feature in our living rooms a missing contemporary glass coffee table would certainly stand out even if we did not expect its presence. As long as the design includes the standard reasonably sized flat surface a designer is free to go were ever they want allowing for a great range of available designs.

In 1868 a table produced in high numbers was listed in literature as a coffee table. However the table designed by E.W. Godwin was 27 inches high and in other books of the time was only labeled as a table. Then through the next 150 years designs of low tables for the use resting your hot drink on became ever increasingly popular as sofas and couches did. Though they were never refereed to as coffee tables until 1938. Joseph Aronson wrote a description of a coffee table as ‘Low wide table used before a sofa or couch’ additionally commenting ‘There is no historical precedent.’

Certainly new to the history of coffee tables is glass coffee table due to modern procedures of glass making it a durable enough product to use for the job. First off lets make sure any glass coffee table you buy uses tempered and or oxidized glass as it is considerably stronger and safer than untreated glass.

The use of glass for the construction of coffee table goes beyond benefiting from its durability and ease of cleaning. The subtle use of glass allows this highly used but unappreciated piece of house hold furniture hide cleverly in the center of our very own living rooms.

The mention of a frosted glass coffee table may well conjure up the image of a glass top and metal frame but the description is certainly not limited to that and a little expansion of the mind may well bring a whole new look to the center of your living room. A loose use of the description could be the glass laid on top of a wooden coffee table to protect the surface or to create a perfectly smooth surface.

The other extreme to the description in a table made solely of one piece of glass leaving the admirer asking how do they get it to bend like that.

We come home from school or work and as we collapse on to sofa we drop our keys wallet and cell onto the bronze and glass coffee table in front of us. The drink we have will be rested on it between sips as we grab the TV remote off of it. Or we may choice to have a flick through our favorite coffee table book ( what a clever marketing name) from its under shelf. Later we may we eat our dinner off of it in front of the TV and most certainly we will use it as a foot stool after wards. Next time you are smugly enjoying the comfort of your sofa or impressiveness of your flat screen TV spend a second to value your glass coffee table.

of the sofa in to one flat cushioned surface as a bed. Depending on the sofas design if present the chairs arms will be integral pillows, removable or fold down. There are even versions which are capable of becoming reclining beds by folding in the other direction for the comfort of the user.

The Importance of Dining Table Pads.

So you have your new dining table in pride of place in your dining room or area. Whether your dining table and chairs are a custom hand crafted set or what ever you could get from the home decor liquidators that will fit in the corner of your kitchen keeping the table in the best possible condition is of importance.

The flat tops of tables can come under attack from an array of different sources. Firstly there is the expected wear and tear from general use, dents from dropped items, heat from hot plates or cups, and watermarks and stains from spills. Then of course there’s always the kids or grand kids using them as temporary drawing tables, the dolls garden, or a toy cars race track. Add to that the aging damage of direct sunlight fading the finish or an active cat or like taking its toll on the surface really they need protecting.

In general there are 3 types of protective dining table pads.

  1. A table cloth and place mats.
  2. A cushioned or quilted pad.
  3. Custom dining room table pads.

The most common method people use to protect their tables is a table cloth and place mat set up. Unfortunately this give a false sense of confidence and really offers little protection other than against the heat of plates on the place mats and the odd drop of food stuff. When the table is not it use the table cloth and mats will be packed away and thus leaving the table top open to damage from other sources.

The most practical and cost effective method for protective dining table pads is the cushioned or quilted roll out pads. Readily available from retailers and online stores these are off the roll materials taken home and cut to fit the shape of your table. They can come in their own decorative style or coloring or be plain and hidden by a table cloth. They are easily cut with standard house hold scissors or the thinner versions can be draped over the edges like a table cloth. With non slip undersides they can stay in place all the time or rolled away and only used when the grand kids are round or the flat area of the dining table has found an additional use.

The ultimate protection and finish in dining table pads is the custom made items. These are generally made and used for high end or antique tables. They start from around $150 upwards for lightweight fiberboard or wood centers with leather or leatherette tops and soft velvet bottoms. The leather top surface give a shear look and feel of beautiful quality and allows for easy cleaning. The soft velvet underside kindly protect the valuable table top surface. A normal sized dining table will be covered with 4 -6 manageable individual or folding pieces. When not in use these pieces do need to be stored carefully in either there supplied boxes or laid flat to stop warping or damage to their fabric hinges.

With the right choice of protective pad a half decent dining table and chairs set can last for many years and a special or important table can last without the need for restoration and become a family heirloom.

Personalized picture frames mean so much more.

Often a special meaningful photo in an attractive frame makes for a greatly warming gift. But to go that bit extra using a
personalized picture frame is the key. Now a days with the vast majority of photos taken consigned to digital storage or
online albums photos that are printed out and displayed obviously have that extra meaning to at least one person. To
personalize the frame to that special photo be it a engraved silver frame or efforts of a child at pre school adds so much
more than the 1000 words the photo is already saying.

Options for personalized picture frames are (but by no means limited too) hand engraving into metal frames silver or gold
plated normally, etching into wooden glass or plastic frames. Of course there's endless messages that can be marked on
the frames. The traditional To.... Love from....., naming the people in the photo, a meaningful comment of 'the moment I fell
in love with you' or a silly to go with the silliness of the photo involved. Any of these options and a vast many more can be
purchased online or from specialist stores and would make great personalized baby picture frames of gifts for friend or
family etc.

Then of course the budget busting and fun way to make cheap personalized picture frames by hand. A great project to get
a child involved in or a nice hobby for a hands on craft orientated adult. A simple guide for a simple but personalized result is
1. Start with a plan discount store photo frame. One with just a glass / clear plastic front that clips to a card / wood back.
2. Select print your photo.
3. Using colored card or paper cut to the same size as the overall frame.
4. Cut out the center of the frame to any desired pattern to frame your selected photo. A nice touch would be to repeat the
above with different colored card and with a bigger center hole for a dual colored frame.
5. Cut out shapes of stars, hearts etc can be added to the frame.
6. Write any personal message on the frame you like.
7. Glue all the card pieces together. Care not to get glue on to the photo or the frames glass.
8. Assemble frames card back, photo, card frame and the frames front glass together to make your own personal unique
personalized picture frame.

Shopping for Dining Table and Chairs?

You maybe considering you need a new dining table and chair set for current home but not considering the long and interesting history of this humble piece of functional furniture. That is fair enough, your thoughts are much wiser to be spent thinking about how practical it will be and how you are going to use it. From art deco dining table and chairs to medieval designs a suitable style needs to to be considered too along with size and seating ability. With some of these options narrowed down where and how to buy will be the next good question.

The origins date back to to the high class noble Britons and Europeans of the middle ages. There would be large multiple use use rooms or great halls in their large manor houses and impressive castles with tables designed to seat the whole of the houses occupants for dining. The head of the table would sit the main family often raised higher and then people of descending order of importance would fill the lower tables. In Old English the word used for table was ‘Bord’ this eventually changed to the modern word ‘Table’ which derived from the Latin word tabula, with the meaning of board, plank, flat top piece.”

Further history took its toll on such elaborateness, Henry VIII’s dissolution of the monasteries and the spread of the Plague meant the great dinning halls became used only for special events. Smaller more intimate dinning became the style and the smaller dinning table and chairs set as we know it was born.

Also whilst researching this I discovered that in the 18th century dining rooms and there furniture where designed to be very masculine. This came about as the ladies of the house would regularly move to the drawing room soon after dinner for the gentlemen to remain and have drinks.

Then in the repressed Victorian times even legs of dining table where covered up as the sight of them was considered scandalous along the same thinking lines that the sight of a ladies ankle let alone her leg was too.

The modern use for Dining tables and chairs is more for special occasion uses with most family choosing to regularly dine at kitchen table or out of their laps if to eat together at all. With irregular use and sat away in designated rooms they can often become either dumping grounds or a great study room for the kids. None the less great thought is still put into their purchase.

Thing to consider when looking to buy is tables design and style. If you are going for the stylish yet safe option of a contemporary dining table and chairs set of something more or less lavish is it going to fit in the room will be your second question. With seating options from 2 to 8 the norm and then expanding tables a great option using a tape measure is the safest bet. Do not forget to also consider the need of maneuvering around the table and other furniture that will be in the room.

Dining tables and chairs rarely come in small boxes so getting the store to deliver is a back saver. Some store will even assemble your new furniture. Never let your choice of store limit selection, just go else where. From home decor liquidators to online furniture retailers there will be the right dining table and chairs set for your dining room and your needs.

Home Decor Liquidators.

With all the current trends self home interior design and decorating has become a big thing. With big things come big prices, either the big fad or the big furniture items essential for the interior designing. As always buying a quality product cheaper than it can be normally found is always key.

This is where boom of home decor furniture liquidators has come from. There business is to dig out and purchase items as cheap as possible from close down sales, liquidation sales, last season & discontinued clear outs. These items are then stored and displayed with out all the nice retail store trimming and massive discounted prices are then passed on to trade buyers and the consuming public. A down side is the lack of retail store finishes such as the pretty stores, central locations and a bells and whistles service that may put off an unaware new customer. Customers should take comfort in the fact that what they will be purchasing will be the same goods as in the elaborate high end retail store.

The heavily discounted prices can often seem to be to good to be true or just plain unbelievable. Most often this is not the case and there are amazing deals to be had due to hard purchasing happening behind the senses. As all ways though buyer beware is advised and a quick check of the items true retail price else where would never be a bad idea and may make you very happy with your savings.

Because of these potential savings Home decor liquidators furniture has become much sought after stuff lately. As such the whole market place has become very competitive forcing prices to stay low and improving the professionalism of the companies. Most set up of home decor liquidators have an on-line presence ranging up to fully automated click and buy websites with of course delivery.

To sum up home decor liquidators stores are allover country and online for your convenience. There is very little to fear about them but the stores and possibly the overall service do not come with the big furniture retail stores finishing touches. Their major selling point will of course always be the cheapness of their ever growing range of quality furniture and home decoration items. I recommend if your in the market for some home decor go and check out your local home decor liquidators.
